Greetings from Ireland! I’m currently sitting at a working dairy farm/bed and breakfast in Bushmills in Northern Ireland, drinking whiskey from a teacup (don’t worry, it’s 10:30 here).
It’s been an absolutely amazing trip so far and I’ll definitely do a detailed post about everything once I get back. But for now, here are five things I’m loving in Ireland!
1. Wolfhound Tours
First things first: I’m here with Wolfhound Tours and I couldn’t recommend Dave more as a tour guide. He’s taken into the most beautiful, off-the-beaten path spots all over Ireland, providing excellent history, myth, and culture lessons all the while.
2. Gorse
These beautiful yellow flowers are blooming everywhere right now and I just can’t get enough. The flowers smell like coconuts! There are patches of it everywhere and it really adds color to the landscape.
3. Eddie Doherty’s Tweed Shop
Ardara, one of the villages where we stayed on the tour, is known for its wool and tweed. Eddie Doherty is the master weaver at his shop and makes beautiful custom tweeds. He was very friendly and welcoming and we got to watch him work on his giant loom. He was the perfect example of a charming Donegal local.
4. The Slieve League Cliffs
A picture is worth a thousand words: look at this one.
5. Guinness
An easy one, but a good one. Guinness really is better here, it’s true.
Sorry for the short post but I’m busy and tired and have lots to do tomorrow! Look forward to a big post when I get back. Happy Friday, everyone!
What a beautiful write up and pictures of some of your times in Ireland.
I bought your book for our trip in the morning to Israel 🇮🇱
